The commission was a proposed apartment in Takoradi, shown before construction as two connected spaces for client Stephen Morgan. Only the living room and the kitchen needed resolving, so the task was less about planning than about proving a mood: how bright, how warm and how local the finished apartment would feel.
Both views are arranged along the same open plan. The living room puts a dark charcoal sofa against a mustard media panel with a wall-mounted screen, and a white molded chair by sliding glass doors onto a balcony with the sea on the horizon; the kitchen runs white gloss cabinets and a white rounded-top refrigerator behind a dark island with two bar stools.
Colour is restrained and the accents carry the character: pale walls, warm floor boards, striped cushions, and a large carved mask panel hung as art in each room. The two visualizations were published as the whole set, a compact pitch for an apartment that was still only a proposal at the time, watermarked with the studio mark, its www.rdvsstudiosgh.com address and the SEED.V.1.1 signature.
The job is filed under three spellings of the same name and none of them has been tidied. This page and the archive call it Apartment In Takoradi; the Behance gallery published it as APARTMENT IN TAKOARADI — RDVS. DESIGN, with the R transposed, and the full set is there; the blogspot post called it APARTMENTS IN TAKORADI, GHANA, plural. The post ran on 17 May 2010, was revised two days later, and its entire text reads “Quick renderings of a proposed apartment in to be built in Takoradi (Ghana). Your c&c’s are welcome” — including the stray “in”, which is the studio’s own.
The post is also the only place the making of these is stated. Its labels name 3d visualization, architecture, Ghana, interiors, photoshop and portfolio, so Photoshop is recorded here as the only tool the studio itself claimed, and the line “we want you to see it before it’s built” dates the renderings as a pre-construction set rather than a record of a finished flat. Nothing later in the blog’s 122 entries returns to Takoradi, so the archive holds the proposal and not the building.
Both frames carry the same bottom-right watermark, and it ties this commission to the studio’s own identity work: the.SEED.V.1.1 / 2010 over www.rdvsstudiosgh.com, the blue rounded mark and the stacked REVIVAL DESIGN+VFX STUDIOS wordmark. That signature is the same one carried by the.SEED wallpaper, by the GOIL frames, across Out of Darkness and The Brightest Idea, and printed in the footer of the homepage of the site whose address is on this watermark.
