The post is three lines long. It was filed as “R.D+V.S - ONLINE STUDIO | PROGRESS” on 13 April 2010 with no labels at all, and its text reads WWW.RDVStudiosGH.COM, “Almost done with our official online studio” and “You can be part of the design process by visiting the site and telling us what you think”. Nothing else about it was ever published: no later post in the blog’s 122 entries returns to the studio’s own site, so this listing has one screenshot and no launch announcement.
The screenshot carries the company’s whole self-description, and it is quoted here rather than paraphrased. WHO WE ARE. is answered with “We are a multi discipline design studio in Ghana committed to bringing the best solutions to every client”; WHAT WE DO. with “Web design, 3d visualization, product design, graphic design pretty much anything design”; and CALL ON US. with two addresses, info@rdvsstudiosgh.com and revivalgh@gmail.com, above a CLIENT PASS. block. The wordmark is the stacked REVIVAL DESIGN+VFX STUDIOS with the studio mark and its registered symbol over it, and a blue panel at the left announces 2010. a new US over an interior render.
The footer is the most informative part of the frame. Six columns run across it: WHAT WE READ links www.psdtuts.com, www.aetuts.com and www.evermotion.org, the tutorial and motion communities a studio like this one would have been reading in 2010; WIP+NEWS carries a single item, 02.01.2010 portfolio release; PLAY and WORK are left as bare headings; TUTS+DOWNLOADS lists WALLPAPERS, PORTFOLIO, PRINT ADS and VIDEOS; and FIND US lists Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Blogger, Youtube and Vimeo. The right-hand block closes with CONCEIVE. DESIGN. REVOLUTIONIZE., the signature line the SEED.V.1.1, 2010 (C) ALL RIGHTS RESERVED and HANDCRAFTED IN GHANA FOR GHANA.
That signature is the third appearance of the same mark on this site. The wallpaper posted on 1 October 2009 went out as the.SEED.v1.0, the GOIL frames carried THE SEED.1.1, and here the studio put the SEED.V.1.1 in the footer of its own homepage -- the only one of the three where the version number appears on the studio’s own property. It sits in the same column as the wallpapers, Out of Darkness and The Brightest Idea, and beside the two other listings the studio made for itself: its ident and its in-house interiors.
It is also the second Website listing in the archive, and the two read against each other. Chyuanchya.com was a client job posted seven months earlier, also shown before it was put on the internet, and its post named the tools it was built with in its labels. This post carries no labels at all and names no tools, so this page has no Software row; no designer is credited in the post or in the artwork, so it has no Team row either. What the two share is the filing: a homepage shown as a single wide screenshot, dated to the post that published it, with no claim that the site ever opened.
Nothing beyond the frame is claimed. The 02.01.2010 line is what the artwork displays, not a record that the site opened; the public archive of the web holds no capture of rdvsstudiosgh.com at all, which is an absence of evidence rather than evidence of absence; and the domain is spelled here exactly as the post and the artwork spell it, RDVStudiosGH.COM with the capital GH. The plate is the house bake of the studio’s own upload, which arrived as a 1006 by 675 PNG.
