Samsung wanted a stronger physical presence along Accra’s busiest road corridors, and RDVS. Design answered with a street branding proposal built in 2009. The idea was simple: own the visual edge of the road with a small family of blue Samsung formats that work together without cluttering the streetscape.
The proposal maps a complete kit of parts across the journey: a branded bus shelter with poster case, tall directional signs and roadside billboards, vertical flags on pole lines, and free-standing totem light boxes. Small orange labels on the plates name each element, reading like a wayfinding system for the brand itself.
Everything runs on Samsung blue with the white wordmark, clean and uniform across scales from flag to billboard. The mockups drop the kit into photographed Accra street scenes, traffic and dusty verges included, testing how the color reads against real light, sky and roadside clutter.
The five-plate set presents the pitch as annotated visual studies rather than finished artwork, ending with a TV billboard layout quoting an inspirational brand line above a product screen and a site note opposite the Busy Internet Cafe building. It documents an early local out-of-home branding exercise by the studio.
The project was published as SAMSUNG BRANDING PROPOSAL(CIRCLE-RIDGE) ACCRA, GHANA — RDVS. DESIGN; the full set is on Behance.
