Lockd Down Entertainment needed a poster to publicise a college night called College Invasion, and wanted something loud enough to stop students scanning a busy wall of flyers. The brief asked for a party image built around trainers and colour, with the date, venue and ticket details legible from a distance.
The composition pairs a pair of pink high-top trainers with ribbons of magenta, cyan and green that burst upward like paint splashes across a grungy gold-to-red background. A winged Lock Down logo sits at the top, while the title College Invasion is set in flowing white script over thin horizontal lines.
The finished artwork ran as a print and social flyer for the 2009 club night, with the red information block carrying the date, 10pm start, venue and reservation numbers. It remains an early example of the studio’s graphic work, built on hot colour, swirls and a party energy.
