The studio published the pair on 6 June 2012 as YCM POSTER - GRAPHIC DESIGN, a fortnight after the event, with no written brief — everything the job was is printed on the sheets themselves. The organiser is the Youth Christian Movement, whose dove mark heads both posters above the theme, Yoked in Christ, taken from Matthew 11:28-30, and the All Christians Practical Praying Band is credited across the foot of the masthead.
The two designs are the same information built on opposite temperatures. The blue sheet is photographic: a larger hand reaching down through cloud to lift a child’s hand, the title set light and wide in pale capitals so the sky does the persuading. The gold sheet is graphic: the title in heavy condensed capitals butted into two lines over a radiating sunburst, with the Redeemer figure standing at the centre of it with arms open, which turns the same verse into a poster that can be read across a car park.
Both keep the practical part identical — the programme stacked as praise, worship, quiz and debate under a hairline rule, then the dates and the Chapel of Grace address on West Airport Boulevard, and the movement’s yoking-the-youth line small at the foot. The images are on blogspot.
