A single work-in-progress rendering of Smart Plaza, an eight- to nine-storey commercial building, posted on the studio’s blog on 7 March 2009 while the set was still being made. The final renderings the post promised were never published, so this frame is all the project leaves behind.

The post is titled WIP - SMART PLAZA and its own body is the only record of the project: “We are currently working hard on the final renderings of an 8 - 9 floor commercial building which construction should start later this year. We are close to completion and we’d like to share some of what we’ve done so far. Hope you enjoy and you comment.” It carries one image and no labels.

That image is this listing’s only plate. The studio said it was close to completion and would post the finals, but the finals never appeared: across all 122 entries on the blog this is the single post that mentions Smart Plaza, and no later entry returns to it. The listing therefore holds the one frame that exists rather than the set that was promised, and it is filed as a work in progress.

What the frame shows is a corner view looking up at the block. A curved cream concrete frame wraps the roofline and turns down the right edge of the building; the left face is a full-height glass curtain wall picked out by a tall red-and-pink panel and a red louvered fin, while the right face is banded in dark glazing and white spandrel panels. Below, the tower rises out of a sculpted cream podium: a cantilevered canopy frames the glazed entrance lobby, a planted first-floor terrace with glass balustrades runs above it, and a ramp leads in from the street, where two saloons and a coupe are parked.

The date is stated twice over. The lower left of the frame carries the studio’s the.SEED.v1.0 mark with 2009 beneath it — the same series line that dates ADM Cocoa and the GOIL re-branding — and the lower right carries revivalgh.blogspot.com with the Revival Design + VFX Studios lock-up. The post went up on 7 March 2009.

Nothing names a client, an architect, a town or a site, and the building itself carries no legible signage, so the listing keeps Private Client and the bare Ghana the studio works from, and the construction start the post expects — “later this year” — is reported as the studio’s expectation rather than as something that happened.
