Airport Hills is one of Accra’s fast-developing neighbourhoods, laid out on a structured grid and home to some of the city’s more affluent families. The Ohene family acquired a plot there for a four-bedroom house, to be built alongside a guest house and separate bedroom units for staff. They asked for high-end renderings that would bring the design into a better perspective — a more detailed view of what the finished residence would actually look like before work started.
The architecture is Imperial Homes’; RDVS’s scope was the visualization. Five exterior views were produced and published to our Behance archive in December 2017 under the title AHFA — 3D Visualization.
The rear of the plot is organised around a long rectangular pool set into a timber deck. An outdoor dining table sits at the near end of the water, loungers run along both sides, and a row of potted plants lines the far edge where the deck meets the parking. The house itself is a stack of white, flat-roofed volumes with wide black-framed glazing, and a timber pergola shades the first-floor terrace to the right — the slats throw a hard striped shadow down the wall beside it.
The two wide plates step back onto the lawn and take in the whole rear elevation: the two-storey main house at the left, the pergola-capped roof terrace in the middle, and a single-storey detached block at the right, glazing lit from within. The brief’s guest house and staff units sit additional to the family house, and this second low structure is where the scheme reads as more than one dwelling.
Each camera position was rendered twice, once in daylight and once at dusk. The dusk versions carry the warm interior light through the bedroom windows and the ground-floor opening, put the pool’s underwater fixtures on in blue, and light the lawn with a scatter of low bollards that are barely visible in the sun.
The last view is the quieter side court between the volumes — lawn, two young flowering trees, and paved walks running to the boundary wall.
