MLKY

MLKY-FLR: a tall reeded floor column glowing warm just under a dark cap and falling to black at its base.

An experimental lighting range rather than one fixture: a reeded column that lifts a room from the floor, a cluster of rounded diffusers that reads as a single body, and a corrugated trunk tapering from a thin tip to an open mouth. RDVS designed MLKY in 2021 for the MIG line.

MLKY is filed as one range rather than three separate fixtures, and the three plates follow that: each carries a single piece against a dark room, so the set reads as a family of diffusers rather than as one lamp seen three ways. The studio exports the pieces as MLKY-FLR, MLKY-BLBS and MLKY-TRNK, and the plates are ordered to match.

The column is the only square frame and stands tallest, its reeded body brightest just under a dark cap and falling to near black at the base. The diffuser cluster and the trunk are both wide crops. All three glow warm and diffused, with no visible bare source.

MLKY is industrial design and product visualization done in-house: RDVS designed the range for the studio’s own MIG line and rendered it as a product.

2021 is the date the studio records for MLKY. The media files carry a later export stamp, which is not the design date.
